This conference will explore the intersection and value of math and play in early childhood. When children explore and apply mathematical thinking in a non-routine way, they actively engage in
building their own conceptual understandings.
- Examine current research on the value of learning math through play.
- Enhance understanding of the Next Generation New York State Mathematics Learning Standards.
- Practice strategies for deepening conceptual understanding and number sense through play and collaborative problem solving.
