Empowering Parents in the Treatment of Child Trauma

Dates: May 16, 2019

Meets: Th from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Location: Brooklyn UFT 24th Floor

This workshop will present empirical research on how parents can help or hinder their child's recovery from trauma. Participants will compare how three widely used, evidence-based child trauma treatment models view the possibilities of engaging parents in the child's recovery from trauma in very different ways. We clinicians can learn much about the realities of collaboration with parents - and the possibilities - by comparing these models: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), and Trauma Systems Therapy (TST).
Fee: $50.00
